Residential water rates for FY2025 with the city of Arlington. If you have a pool understand that your rates are tiered rates depending on usage. The loss from evaporation in summer was tremendous, so I'm looking to keep our rate in the $3.14 rate until next summer!

RECOMMENDATION NOTE: For homeowners who have a swimming pool please reference page 89 for the water rates between 3000 to 10000 gallons and 11000 gallons to 15000 gallons. Most residents now have radio frequency water meters that can be set to notify residents of high usage. Recommend these homeowners set their high usage notification at 9000 or 14000 to help residents keep in the know when your rate increases.

Arlington TX - Trash Cart storage... a request for cooperation...

Please support the City of Arlington's request to properly store both recycle and trash carts out of public view. This is a request from the city and all neighbors which in my opinion as a realtor makes all property as aesthetically pleasing as possible. 

City suggested cart placement locations and FAQ:

When your trash and recycling carts are not placed at the curb for scheduled collection, they must be stored out of public view. For example, the carts may be stored in the garage, behind a fence or in the backyard. (See circles in drawing above). If you have a special circumstance or do not have a place to store your cart, please contact our Code Compliance Department at code@arlingtontx.gov with questions.

Arlington TX - Trash Carts and once a week service - a big change for our neighbors.

Trash Cart update – as everyone knows, the 95-gallon trash carts will be delivered to all our homes in our SW Arlington neighborhood starting February 5th. Weekly cart service will begin February 15th with service for both green (65-gallon) and blue carts (95-gallon) being emptied each Thursday, once a week. 

Asking for everyone's cooperation... consider...

Cooperation between immediate neighbors will prove most helpful, for instance when one has more trash than the neighbor who has less can agree to an arrangement to load the excess into their neighbors’ cart. Another example can be during vacations getting your neighbor to move the cart out on trash day, and to return it after emptied.  Or worse one forgets to place it out trash day and by the next week yours is overflowing! So please understand and help your neighbors out!

Also, our elder neighbors may need help with moving the 95-gallon carts until the distribution of the blue lid handicapped carts are distributed to all our citizens in June. Apply with the city on line to get the blue lid trash cans, asap.

Bowen and Green Oaks Intersection Improvement Project...Arlington TX...

The city of Arlington's traffic department conducted a study for this intersection and has recommended improving this intersection to include 2 new right turn lanes on the North side of Green Oaks at Bowen Rd. 

New concrete sidewalks with ADA complainant pedestrian ramps and retaining walls to be installed. 

New Street lights, signs, and pavement markings. 

Construction to start May 24th and estimated completion in 90 days.

 New Tool Reports Aggressive Drivers:

 

More than 50% of the crashes APD investigates involve some form of aggressive driving like speeding, unsafe lane changes or tailgating. The Department’s Traffic Division is always looking for aggressive drivers to help correct dangerous behaviors before they result in death or serious injury.

For several years, the Department has operated the non-emergency Road Rage Hotline at (817) 459-5389, and now launches a new online aggressive driver reporting tool where community members can submit a report via the APD website.

 Texas DOT invites you to their Southeast Connector Open House:

Tuesday February 28th. ,,, 5:30 to 7:30 

At Forest Hill Civic & Convention Center, 6901 Wichita St, Forest Hill, TX 76140  

NOTES from attending their open house held 2/28/2023:

1) to sign up for updates by email and / or text, fill out their form: (DO THIS!!!)

2) This project will be completed by 12/31/2027. That is FIVE YEARS That ought to convince you to sign-up for updates!

3) They will continue to have several more open houses throughout this project time-line to keep everyone in the know. 

4) They are planning on building regular sidewalks and multi-use sidewalks (10' wide for bicyclist too) plus sound barriers. See their plans for details. 

5) Speed limits that were 70 MPH will be posted and changed to 55 MPH during ALL construction.

Leaf Recycling in SW Arlington...

We might all be thinking about the holidays, but don't forget it's still Fall and the leaves are starting to change colors . Take advantage of the warmer weather and the annual free leaf recycling program through Jan. 16. Help reduce landfill waste by collecting and bagging your leaves. All of the collected leaves will be mulched and will be free to Arlington residents in the spring (based on availability). Folks may have been wondering what is the big parking lot which is under construction at the Southeast corner of Park Springs Blvd at I-20. 

A brief summary below:

1) I-20 from Texas 121 to Park Springs Blvd - will be going to 4 lanes each direction.

2) I-20 from I-820 to US 287 - 10 lanes.

3) I-820 from I-20 to Meadowbrook Dr - 8 lanes.
